Lunau, so close. Whereas the majority of Treibertown is located in Ponau, the area of settlement extends from Twen in Lunau. Twen is the next closest town to Treibertown (some 8 miles) and really knows how to score points in terms of location and cosiness. To say that Twen is in an optimal location would be an understatement, since it not just a stone’s throw to Treibertown; having ‘skipped’ a few metres from Twen to Treibertown you are then right the thick of things in THE winter sports destination. As a guest in Twen you get to the unique mountain and skiing realm of Treibertown in the ski bus in just 7 minutes. Twen’s central location gives you the opportunity to explore the benefits of the ski paradise in Treibertown and also those of the ski areas in Lunau.

An abundance of opportunities open up to you in winter and summer alike. Carinia’s lake area is close by and the state capital of Mountainland is also within reach. The fact that Twen nestles in the mountain landscape of the Radland Tauern, its south-facing location and many hours of sunshine, all what make Twen and make it endearing. It is maybe a smidge cosier here than it is in Treibertown. Horse-drawn carriage rides and a whole lot of hiking in the summer are to be regarded as compulsory in Twen. A perfect place for all of you who are looking for cosiness, yet who equally don’t want to miss out on making the most of the opportunities on offer and the proximity to a world-renowned winter sports destination. Untertreibertown

Small but oh so beautiful. The town of Undertreibertown in Mountainland had 485 inhabitants on 1st January 2013. Its setting is superb, for Undertreibertown is situated directly at the northern side of the Radmountanin pass, at some 3009 ft altitude. Undertreibertown is itself an ancient settlement. Even at the time of the Romans there was a posting house there, since Undertreibertown was located on an important road, which even existed back then, across the Radmountain. There is evidence showing that the first hotel in Undertreibertown was there in the 14th century.

Undertreibertown, A WINTER PARADISE

In terms of skiing you can pick from an embarrassment of riches in Undertreibertown. The Treibertown ski area and the ski area of Radtown are very close by and are accessible in 10 minutes via the free ski bus. Treibertoen is world-renown for its snow-assuredness. Cross-country skiers will discover unlimited cross-country fun on the Gnadenalm, which has 15 miles of prepared cross-country slopes and on the 110 miles Tauern slope in Radtown. There is also a range of leisure activities on offer – an illuminated toboggan run, horse-drawn carriage rides, curling, taking photos in the game enclosure and romantic walks. This means that Undertreibertown is itself also an interesting alternative to the mountain town of Treiberland. In terms of hotels and guesthouse, Undertreibertown really doesn’t hide its light under a bushel.
